some keywords

The tape around the faceplate is here to protect the polished metal while messing around it.

- Turbo idler sustaining engine working for minutes after keys removal
- Oil pressure
- Oil temperature
- Coolant temperature
- Turbo pressure
- Air temperature before and after intercooler
- Water / Methanol injection
- Pre and post lubricating pump i.e. to prepare the cold engine before inserting the key or to leave the car, shutting down the engine but still allowing the oil to run in it's circuits.

- Lambda sensor
- Electric valves
- Actuators
- Accelerometers
- Stepper motors
- DC motors
etc....

add your own sensor or component in the list above, your imagination and sky are the limit...

I ordered some hardware at Bmw to deactivate Ews and build a remote starter for the car and a turbo idler as well.
Will i'm changing some parts of the frontend, i entered a new assistant in the Roadster.

Preview of the assistant now integrated in the Roadster frontend Smile
She like to confirm selected commands, show expressions on her face, warn when approaching from cameras...i'll probably extend her abilities but this is for later, i have to finish first the remote and turbo idler.

Ok, here we are with the first steps of my creature taking over the car
Yes, it's still a mess of wires but this function is not the only one and i have a bunch of wiring work before it is definitely affixed...

Here what is happening inside when the original key's remote is activated...

Found time to wire the main harness, of course the Roadster could be hidden, it's smaller than my power amp but it must be viewed when doing my demos so...it will stay at this place

It's comfortable to just use my home's computer or the remote key to start the car, this morning, +4° C, 8 minutes later my car was warm...this makes a real change compared to some frozen mornings.
It's so easy and fun to use that i almost regret to have to use key to unlock the steering wheel.

The Roadster unlocking the car then glow, ignition, power up the pc, boot up, welcome avatar display, playing a bit of videos, at work locking leisure functions with the valet mode and finally shutting down the car with the touchscreen.

I'll do another video with the turbo idler and the internet access tomorrow under daylight.

Happy new year 2009 !

For 2009, i got rid off the bluetooth. No more bluetooth on board.
Those devices are too fragile with energy dependence and in use they are weak in the last moments.
They are also depending too much from the pc Roll Eyes
So, for my handsfree phone and my internet access, i left my old v3 and i replaced it with a quad band GPRS/3G/EDGE/M2M/GPS module.

Now bluetooth devices are banned from my install...i don't need them anymore LaughFrin
