Hi there all.

I'm quite new to these forums here. I decided to build my own Car-PC system, without any dashboard modification.

Goals are: GPS, Tv/Radio, optical drive, touchscreen (not built-in).

My car is a Opel Calibra turbo with custom hi-fi.
- The car pc's audio out shall have digital output, either coaxial (better sound than optical) or optical (no metallic contact to the DAC -> no noise hum or earth loop or whatever).
- DAC is a custom-made audiophile-grade box with both coax and optical IN, RCA stereo OUT (I don't care about fading front/rear) with a passive setup, so no EQ, no fading, etc. I don't need these at all, a simple stereo signal-out will be ok.

So, my questions after hours of reading here and elsewhere:

I found the correct case for the classic DIN size, the Travla C134 will fit nicely. First question:

What do you think, can I use Core/Core2 based Intel ITX boards in this case ?

I also would like to have digital out. Is that possible with this case & this Core(2) setup ? Does such mobo exist on the market ?

Second Q: what do you think about generating heat, hot summer operation (dashboard surface at about 40-50 Celsius), CPU cooling, etc, in this DIN case ? CPU would be a single core type Core/Core2.
